About the Connected Collection

I had one of the toughest years of my life in 2019 and then right after moved into an unprecedented time with covid. It got me thinking and appreciating things anew. If you have been around Eileen M for a while you will know that we make jewellery that celebrates the beautiful everyday. Now I had an idea months ago; born out of loss and heartache. You see I lost my darling Dad. 

As devastating as that was one of the things that has remained with me from that period was the hugs I received, the love that was poured into me. It came from people in my immediate circle and from people in Eileen M community. I had people putting custom made orders on hold indefinitely saying take time to heal, we will be here later. I had strangers randomly messaging to check on me not just on the day but months after. I had no idea people could be so beautiful! That kindness will forever remain with me.

The irony is crazy, my Dad was a gentle soul, beloved by many. He loved people, enjoyed people and challenged me to do the same. It took losing him and seeing the people that he and my Mum have always gathered close, come around us. I suddenly started seeing some of the beauty in people that my parents took pains to point out simply and quietly. 

Right after this, the world went into a crazy pandemic period, again with such heart wrenching disaster. So many of us slowed down and looked at things anew, treasured things anew….If you look closely at the whole collection, you will notice that the metal seems to hug the stone in each piece. It’s deliberate, the ones we hold dear are never far from our hearts.

Each metal, each stone has a story. Each piece a very individual significance.
